15 Minute Breakfast Recipes for Busy Mornings
If you do not have a lot of time in the morning, you will really like these breakfast recipes that only take 15 minutes to make.
Mornings are really busy. You have to get ready for work. The kids have to get ready for school. You also have to pack their lunches or catch the bus or train on time. This means you have to plan. When you are in a hurry, breakfast is usually the thing to go for.
Skipping breakfast is not a good idea. You need breakfast to have energy for the day. The good thing is that you can make your breakfast quickly and easily. You do not have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.
These 15-minute breakfast recipes are great for mornings.
1. Vegetable Poha
In India, the simple breakfast that you can make very easily, is made from Vegetable Poha. It is easy to eat. Vegetables that you like can be added to it.
Ingredients
- 1 cup poha
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 green chilli
- A curry leaves
- ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- A few of peanuts
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon oil
- Lemon juice
Vegetable Poha is made in the following way:
It is important to wash the Vegetable Poha lightly, and then set aside for a couple of minutes. In a pan, heat some oil. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and peanuts and onion and green chilli. When onion is soft, add powder and salt to the pan.
After that the Vegetable Poha is added into the pan. Be sure to thoroughly mix everything together. The time taken for cooking of the Vegetable Poha is 3-4 minutes. Once this is done, the stove can be turned off. Squeeze in some lemon juice into the Vegetable Poha.
Time: 10 to 15 minutes
2. Bread Omelette
A bread omelette is an easy to prepare breakfast if you enjoy eating eggs. It is really useful when you are, in a hurry and you have to leave your home in a minutes.
The bread omelette is a thing to eat for breakfast. If you do not have a lot of time, you can create a bread omelette.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2–3 slices of bread
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 green chilli, chopped
- Coriander leaves
- Salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon oil
So, how to create a bread omelette?
First you need to beat the eggs in a bowl. Then add the Onion and the Green Chilli. Add coriander leaves and salt and pepper to the eggs. You will then need to warm a pan and put an oil in the pan.
Then it's time to pour the egg mixture into the pan. If so, you will have to stack the slices of bread over the egg mixture. The bread is omelette must be cooked for 1 minute. If so, then bread omelette needs to be flipped and other side of bread omelette needs to be cooked.

3. Vegetable Upma
Vegetable upma is a South Indian breakfast dish which you can prepare in a jiffy with roasted rava.
Vegetable Upma is a great way to make as it is quick and easy.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rava
- 1 onion
- Mixed vegetables
- Curry leaves
- ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
- 2 cups water
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon oil
Make Vegetable Upma:
What you need to do is to heat oil in a pan.
Then mustard seed and curry leaves are added to the oil.
Onion and mixed vegetables are then added. Sauté for a couple of minutes.
Add water and salt to the pan.
As the water begins to boil, slowly add rava to the boiling pan, stirring the Vegetable Upma mixture throughout.
The Vegetable Upma mixture has to be stirred continuously for avoiding the formation of any lumps.
You need to cook Vegetable Upma for a few minutes until the rava, in the Vegetable Upma becomes soft.
Time: 12–15 minutes
